Kodak Black was locked up on federal and state weapons charges after falsifying statements in order to obtain guns illegally. He was arrested shortly before his performance at the Rolling Loud festival in Miami this past weekend. He was granted $550,000 bond but was forced to put up his $600,000 mansion as collateral in order to pay off the bond.

Prior to this incident, Kodak was doing a lot of good for the community in the aftermath of dissing Lil Wayne and trying to holler at Lauren London shortly after Nipsey Hussle passed. He bought over 1,200 notebooks for Texas students and offered to pay for the funeral of 18-year-old Kendrick Castillo, who was murdered in the STEM School Highlands Ranch shooting in Colorado recently. Kodak also wanted to donate his Rolling Loud check to the family of 18-year-old Meadow Pollack, a student who was shot and killed in the Marjory Stoneman Douglas High School shooting in Parkland, Florida last year, per The Blast. The money would’ve been used to start a scholarship in her honor.

At Rolling Loud, Meadow’s brother Hunter was brought into VIP and got to meet Kodak. The announcement of the scholarship would’ve been made on stage while Kodak was doing his performance.

“Kodak was very disappointed that he couldn’t make something he thought was going to be very special happen at Rolling Loud,” said his attorney, Bradford Cohen. “We spent weeks trying to coordinate the surprise in Meadow Pollack’s memory. Kodak still intends fund a scholarship in her memory.”

Salute to Kodak on trying to bring about good in his home state along with other communities. It’ll be interested to see how this case plays out. He will also have to go to trial for a sexual assault case from South Carolina which happened two years ago.
