Russell Westbrook joining the Los Angeles Lakers was supposed to return them to championship form. Instead, it has been an unmitigated disaster. The Lakers not only missed the 2022 playoffs, they also missed the 2022 play-in. Last season, Westbrook took on much of the blame for this. When the Lakers hired Darvin Ham as their coach, he gave Westbrook a better role. However, he has still fallen back into struggling. The fans have taken matters into their own hands, dissing Russ in the DMs.

Russell Westbrook was once the MVP of the league. During the first eight years of his career, Westbrook was one half of the NBA’s most exciting duo. Alongside Kevin Durant, Russ put the Oklahoma City Thunder on the map. In 2012, Russ and KD went to the NBA Finals, in only their third playoff appearance. Unfortunately, that ended up being the peak of the team. Like the rest of the league, OKC found themselves unable to get past the Golden State Warriors.

Russell Westbrook was traded from the Thunder to the Houston Rockets, in 2018. Even with a new team, the Warriors were still too much for him and them. As a result, Westbrook joined the Washington Wizards. Despite a productive season, he was traded to the Lakers. Initially, fans expected this to be a title piece. Instead, it’s been a struggle. Now, the fans of the Lakers have made at least one diss track, which was sent to Russ’ DM on Instagram.
