LeBron James blames Black people for Tyree Nichols’ murder
LeBron James always charted his own path and he’s been successful doing so. Unlike all of the other “next Michael Jordan” players, LeBron did his own thing. When the Cleveland Cavaliers failed to win a championship in seven years, James signed with the Miami Heat. In turn, they won two titles in four years. Once the Heat cooled off, LeBron went back to Cleveland, and got his third ring. After that, he joined the Lakers, and won his fourth ring. Along the way, he also has been politically charged, and is currently in hot water for his comments about Tyree Nichols.
LeBron James is never afraid to jump into the political arena. While he has a brand to focus on, LeBron never shies away from the hot topics. Currently, what happened to Tyree Nichols in Memphis is the hot topic. People are dismayed about yet another Black man being murdered by the police. What makes this situation worse is that Tyree Nichols’ life was taken by five Black police officers. In a situation like this, what are people supposed to do?
LeBron James, like the rest of the world, is upset by what happened to Tyree Nichols. Last night, footage of the cops taking Tyree Nichols’ life aired live on primetime television. Many people had various things to say about it. As LeBron saw the footage, he vented on his Twitter about things. Controversially, he said “we are our own worst enemies.” While he never mentioned Nichols by name, LeBron posted this as the footage was airing. “We” symbolically refers to Black people, and LeBron is being dragged on Twitter over it.
