Despite LeBron James leading the Lakers to the title, the team has struggled under his leadership. LeBron James failed to lead the Lakers to the title in his first year. The Lakers traded much of their core to the New Orleans Pelicans in exchange for Anthony Davis. LeBron James injured his ankle playing those Pelicans, who then passed the Lakers for their play-in spot.

LeBron James has quietly given up on championship aspirations for 2022. Instead, LeBron James is focused on making history. James is officially the NBA’s second leading scorer of all-time. Combining LeBron James’ points in the regular season and playoffs, he is the NBA’s all-time leading scorer. James is now only a few points away from beating Kareem Abdul-Jabbar’s record. This morning, LeBron James took to Twitter, where he said he was going to be out for the season. The fans think LeBron James is pulling an April Fool’s joke.
