Lil Nas X has been one of the biggest superstars in the music industry, ever since early 2019. It all started with the massive success of his breakout hit single, “Old Town Road.” It was dominating the country charts on Billboard, but surprisingly got removed, due to oddly not meeting the requirements of a country song.

Nas X soon added country legend, Billy Ray Cyrus, to the remix, and it was up from there. Old Town Road topped the Billboard Hot 100 chart, and immediately became an international sensation. It is receiving more plaques every single year, and now, has achieved another huge milestone.

According to Chart Data, Old Town Road ft. Billy Ray Cyrus is now 16x platinum, in the US. This is after selling over 16 million units, which is way past the diamond certification level. With this certification, this collaboration is also still the highest certified track, in RIAA history.

2021 was another huge year for Nas X as well, as he finally released his debut studio album, “Montero.” This project was led by chart-topping singles such as “Montero (Call Me By Your Name),” and “Industry Baby,” ft. Jack Harlow.
