However, Jay Z explained a lot on “The Breakfast Club” when he mentioned almost signing Lil Wayne. There was a time when Jay Z was on good terms with Birdman, but that was no longer the case by the late 2000s. Meanwhile, Lil Wayne carried on a love/hate relationship.
Lil Wayne is grinding like he was during his 2005-2008 mixtape run, popping up in the studio with Hurricane Chris, Freeway, and on tracks with Bankroll Fresh. He is hungry for something new and even joined TIDAL, heightening rumors of him signing with Roc Nation. During his performance at Summer Jam KMEL 2015, Lil Wayne confirmed signing with Roc Nation, as Purple Krown tweeted it out.
