Fresh off the Lil Weezyana Fest and appearing with Drake in Miami on his tour, Lil Wayne made shocking news. He has officially retired from making music, saying it was too draining. This news officially makes the year of 2016 a bad one for young adults’ childhood.

Whatever icons didn’t die, this year, retired, such as Kobe Bryant and Tim Duncan, in the NBA. In music, Lil Wayne can be added to the list, but this news can’t be really surprising. Since 2014, Wayne has had very public battles with Cash Money over his album release.

Add in that Lil Wayne hasn’t had a hit since 2014 and his move to sign with Jay Z’s TIDAL to drop an album, it was clear he was fighting. In the end, sometimes moving on is the best option, but it still hurts fans and they reminded him of his promise. So, the fans have flooded Twitter with that reminder and memories of the man who aided Chris Brown, Nicki Minaj, Drake, and Tyga, as he says farewell.
