Lil Wayne’s “Lollipop” single goes diamond

Since the early 2000s, Lil Wayne has established himself as one of the best and biggest rappers of all-time. He’s released multiple classic albums, along with hit singles that fans remember several decades later. One of them is “Lollipop,” which was released in 2008, and featured the late Static Major.

Wayne has now reached another huge milestone with Lollipop. According to Chart Data, it has sold over 10 million units in the US, which makes it certified diamond. Lollipop is also Wayne’s first diamond single.

Lollipop went on to peak at number one, on the Billboard Hot 100 chart. It also appeared on Wayne’s “Tha Carter III” album, in the summer of 2008. That project debuted at number one on the Billboard 200, and is currently 8x platinum in the US.

Currently, Wayne is working on his “Tha Carter VI” album. However, there is still no official release date. He initially revealed during Drake’s OVO Fest, that Carter VI would be coming soon. Wayne’s previous album came back in January 2020, which was “Funeral.” That went on to see a number one debut in the US. Wayne’s installment of the Carter series came back in the fall of 2018.
