Lizzo’s “About Damn Time” goes platinum
In April, Lizzo released her first single in three years, with “About Damn Time.” This record saw immediate success, as it debuted at number four on the Billboard Hot 100 chart.
About Damn Time is also set to appear on Lizzo’s first album in three years, which will be “Special.” This project is set for a July 15 release. In the meantime, About Damn Time has already set a new milestone.
According to Chart Data, About Damn Time has now sold over 1 million units, in the US. This makes it eligible for platinum status. Its momentum is still sky-high as it currently stands at number four, on the Hot 100.
With Lizzo’s “Cuz I Luv You” album in 2019, she saw a number four on the Billboard 200, and is platinum in the US. It’s anticipated that the Special album will be Lizzo’s first number one album, amid the latest success of the About Damn Time single. Lizzo’s superstardom has soared over the past three years, as fans had anxiously been waiting for new music, from the rap/pop star. The other lead single on Special, is “Grrrls,” which has also earned praise, online.
