Lizzo named TikTok’s top artist of 2022
As 2022 comes to an end, the lists for the top artists of the year are being released from each platform. One platform in particular that has dominated music is TikTok and the impact it has on viral singles. Although multiple singles find success on the platform, one artist in particular comes out at the top of TikTok’s viral sensations. According to Billboard, Lizzo is “TikTok’s Top Artist of the Year,” for 2022. With over 26 million followers and over 1 billion likes on that platform, alone, Lizzo’s influence speaks for itself. The popular platform released a “Year on TikTok: 2022, Truly #ForYou,” list naming Lizzo as the most streamed music artist of the year.
Dominating music and redefining beauty standards, Lizzo is a true role model for women in music. Since the release of her latest album, Special, Lizzo’s reign on top continues. Her single, “About Damn Time,” reached the top of the Billboard Hot 100, upon its release. In addition to her record breaking music she’s a business woman, owning a shape wear line called, YITTY. Lizzo would often promote her brand on TikTok along with her music, making for an impressive marketing plan.
Lizzo calls herself the “Queen of TikTok,” in a new video on the platform sharing her success. Other artists on the list include Bad Bunny and Harry Styles.
