Future’s “Wait For U” sets 2022 Apple Music streaming record
In 2022, Future had another massive year. He released his ninth studio album, “I Never Liked You,” in May, which went on to become another number one album for him. It was his seventh straight number one solo studio album, in total. 22 tracks were available, including the deluxe edition. Future collaborated with stars such as Drake, Tems, Lil Baby, Lil Durk, Kanye West, 42 Dugg, and more.
One of the biggest records that Future had from I Never Liked You, was “Wait For U.” This also included two huge features from Drake and Tems. That quickly debuted at number one on the Billboard Hot 100 chart. It’s also at 2x platinum status in the US.
However, Wait For U continues to rack up the accolades. According to Chart Data, it was also the most streamed song on US Apple Music, in 2022. Wait For U also helped propel Tems to even more superstardom, as was already one of the biggest artists out of Nigeria. Drake also started a massive run after that collaboration, as he has scored two number one albums, since June. This includes “Honestly, Nevermind” and “Her Loss,” with 21 Savage.
