Lizzo’s “Special” album to debut at number two in US
Last week, Lizzo released her highly anticipated third studio album, “Special.” That came several months after the pop star released her first single in three years “About Damn Time.” It debuted at number two on the Billboard Hot 100 chart, and is still in that position now. About Damn Time is also platinum in the US.
Lizzo’s first week sales for Special are also here, as well. This album is aiming for a number two debut, on the Billboard 200 chart, according to Chart Data. Lizzo is expected to sell over 65,000 units, in its first week. This would also become her highest charting album to date. Lizzo’s “Cuz I Luv You” debuted at number four, in 2019. That was her last project released, prior to Special.
Special contained 13 tracks in total, as Lizzo held the album down with no features. “Grrrls” has also been another hot song from Special.
It’s expected that Bad Bunny’s “Un Verano Sin Ti” album will remain at the top spot, on the Billboard 200. This would be its sixth total week at number one. Bunny has already broken his own all-time record for biggest streaming year for any artist in Spotify history as well, with over 10.3 billion streams.
