Hip hop has made leaps and bounds in almost every category, including race. One special thing about hip hop is that in this genre, black people did not have to prove themselves and are the majority, as opposed to the minority. Many credit Vanilla Ice as the first white rapper they had ever seen.

Until Eminem debuted, a decade later, every white rapper was compared to Vanilla Ice and it was not until Mac Miller, Yelawolf, and Machine Gun Kelly that white rappers truly found an identity. Now, there are plenty of white emcees in the game, both male and female. Each has a recognized identity of their own.

Continuing his New York City media run, Mac Miller stopped by Hot 97 and talked to the trio of Ebro, DJ Cipha Sounds, and Peter Rosenberg. Mac Miller touched upon the influx of white rappers in the game, including Macklemore. During the interview, his upcoming work with Pharrell also was discussed.
