In the hip hop world, D’Angelo Russell received a lot of flack for the role he played in the Nick Young/Iggy Azalea breakup. Though they are back together, now, D’Angelo Russell got plenty of backlash. But, the Laker nation was more focused on Kobe Bryant’s last game.
Going out in a way only Kobe Bryant could, scoring 60 points, he led the lowly Lakers to a fifteen point comeback vs the Utah Jazz. That game improved the Lakers to 17-65 on the season, a third straight franchise worst. Now, the future begins, as the Kobe era is over.
While Kobe Bryant is not sold on D’Angelo Russell being the next franchise player, the Lakers are building around him. This summer, the organization has a lot of work to do and Magic Johnson is stepping up for his franchise. He announced, via Twitter, he will be working with D’Angelo Russell during the offseason.
