Makeda’s Cookies honors Young Dolph on anniversary of death
November 17 is the official 1-year anniversary of the death of Young Dolph. Last year, he was shot and killed while visiting Makeda’s Homemade Cookies, popular South Memphis business.
Dolph was a frequent customer at Makeda’s, as the store went on to be closed for 10 months, after the shooting. However location in the downtown Memphis area, remained open.
The Makeda’s location on Airways Blvd is back in business now, though. As a result they are honoring Dolph on this emotional 1-year anniversary of his death. According to TMZ, the store has been making custom dolphin cookies today, as well as playing music from Dolph. Photos of the Memphis rapper are also on display.
Staffers at Makeda’s are also wearing “Black Men Deserve To Grow Old” t-shirts. This is from the clothing line by Dolph’s partner, Mia Jaye. Earlier this week, she penned an emotional post to Instagram, for Dolph, about this 1-year anniversary.
Threes suspects have since been arrested, in connection to Dolph’s murder. They are 23-year-old Justin Johnson, 32-year-old Cornelius Smith, and 43-year-old Hernandez Govan. Govan plead not guilty, in his first court appearance, on Thursday.
