Malika Andrews faces backlash for not speaking on Josh Giddey

Malika Andrews has become one of the biggest names in NBA media. The past three years have seen her become a household name. When she trends on social media, it’s rarely positive, however. Normally, people are accusing her of unfair coverage towards players of certain races. This week, Josh Giddey of the Oklahoma City Thunder got accused of having an inappropriate relationship with an underage girl. It wasn’t until today that Malika spoke on this. As a result, Malika has gotten bad feedback on social media.

Malika Andrews is a native of the Bay Area and grew up a Golden State Warriors’ fan. When she got into the world of sports journalism, she landed jobs with companies associated with ESPN. The fallout from the situation with Rachel Nichols opened the door for Malika. Nichols’ ESPN NBA show, “The Jump,” was cancelled. Subsequently, Malika’s show, “NBA Today,” replaced “The Jump.” Initially, Malika was a fan favorite. However, the viewers have quickly turned on her.

Malika Andrews exchanged words with Stephen A. Smith, which turned fans off. Also, some have said they don’t like things she’s said to Jalen Rose and Kendrick Perkins. In fact, several YouTube videos are dedicated to this. However, a lot of what’s been said about Malika is taken out of context. Actually watching the shows prove she hasn’t been intentionally doing cruel things. However, Black men on social media called her out for being silent on Josh Giddey, but vocal when Black players mess up.
