Martin Lawrence not interested in “Martin” reboot
Two weeks ago, the official “Martin” 30-year reunion special, aired on BET+. Plans for this reunion were initially announced in February, as Martin Lawrence and other cast members of the classic 90s sitcom. were on set.
Lawrence also recently appeared on “The Tonight Show Starring Jimmy Fallon.” Lawrence was asked about a possible “Martin” reboot, but isn’t interesting in that, due to how special the original show was.
“I think the ‘Martin’ show was like catching lightning in a bottle and I don’t think we can redo that again. I wouldn’t mind working with the cast again on something but I don’t think we can do that again.”
Lawrence did reveal that he’d like to do a spin-off film based on one of the “Martin” characters, though. This would be on Sheneneh, a female character that he also played, in the show. This film was actually supposed to happen with Jamie Foxx, in the past.
“Well, I would love to see a movie with Sheneneh. And, remember we were supposed to do a movie with Sheneneh and Jamie Foxx, with Wanda [from ‘The Jamie Foxx Show’], and that never came about. But if we could ever get that together, I think y’all would love that.”
Martin Lawrence also recently announced that he’d be receiving a star on the Hollywood Walk Of Fame. This was posted to his Instagram account, as he showed how ecstatic he was, about the big news.
