Matthew Perry is still best-known for his role as Chandler on the sitcom, “Friends.” His character of Chandler was the love interest of Courtney Cox’s Monica. At the time, “Friends” was the most profitable sitcoms of all-time. As a result, the show ran for ten years. In the years since, Perry has not had the same kind of success with sitcoms. But, his post-friends career has been lucrative. This evening, there have been reports of Matthew Perry’s passing.

Matthew Perry turned the character of Chandler into an American icon. During the time of “Friends'” run, the show was the number one show on television. Chandler, meanwhile, became the most recognizable character on the show, outside of Ross and Rachel (David Schwimmer and Jennifer Aniston.) To date, many of his catchphrases are still used in daily conversation. Even other TV shows have references to “Friends.”

Matthew Perry was found dead in his Los Angeles home, in the jacuzzi. First responders were called out to the house, with reports of a cardiac arrest victim. This victim wound up being Matthew Perry. A year ago, Perry opened up about his battles with drug addiction and substance abuse. However, Perry dedicated himself to improving his life, after his battle. Sadly, his life has come to an untimely end, as he passed at 54 years of age.
