Megan Thee Stallion has been one of the biggest breakthrough artists of 2019 which all started with the success of her 2018 single ‘Big Ole Freak.’ She then dropped her ‘Fever’ mixtape this past May which included hits such as ‘Realer’ and ‘Cash S*it’ feat. Da Baby. Megan also recently signed a management deal with Jay Z’s Roc Nation.
Megan also made the phrase “Hot Girl Summer” popular and we soon started seeing companies such as Wendy’s and Forever 21 trying to use it. This made Megan decide to file a trademark for it.
Megan has now revealed in an interview with Virginia’s 103 Jamz radio station, that the Hot Girl Summer phrase is officially her trademark. The Houston rapper simply said “It’s trademarked. We did it.” Cardi B tried to file a trademark for her “Okurr” phrase but that was denied. It sounds like Megan’s phrase stood out more in the process of it being approved.
