Memphis’ Nike warehouse gets robbed in broad daylight
Lately, there has been a lot of focus on the city of Memphis. As a result, the city has been on national news, almost nonstop nightly coverage. Truth be told, there is a lot going on in the city. When it comes to jobs, two of the biggest employers in Memphis are FedEx and Nike. Yesterday, some people ended up pulling off a robbery and Nike was the target.
Over the past forty years, Nike has become one of the leading apparel brands in the world. Much of this is due to their lucrative partnership with Michael Jordan. That partnership has been so successful that it spawned the Jordan Brand. The Jordan Brand, in addition to the clothing, sponsors many basketball-related events. Most notably, they sponsor the Jordan Brand Classic basketball game.
However, Memphis is one of the places where the actual work takes place with Nike. Many products from Nike are shipped from this location. Yesterday, the warehouse was compromised, and people ended up getting out of there with tons of products. Not only was the robbery bad, but the worst part is how this took place in the middle of the day.
