Mikal Bridges became a key piece of the Phoenix Suns’ rotation, last season. Of course, the Suns were the NBA’s best team last year, until they weren’t. During the regular season, the Suns were heads and shoulders above the rest of the NBA. Led by the strong play of Chris Paul and Devin Booker, Phoenix went 64-18. Guys like Mikal Bridges and DeAndre Ayton helped to round the rest of the roster. Last year, the Suns imploded against Dallas, and this year, they are simply not the same.

Mikal Bridges is trying to take a step forward, but the Phoenix Suns have struggled. While they remain a top team in the West, the Suns are not the same. Last night, they lost at home to the Washington Wizards. That loss dropped the Suns to 19-13 on the season. By comparison, the Suns went 64-18, last season. Obviously, it was going to be tough for the Suns to match that record. However, just to finish at that same final total, the Suns would need to go 49-5 for the rest of the season.

Mikal Bridges grew frustrated, last night, and DeAndre Ayton was his target. This past offseason, there were rumors that the Phoenix Suns would not re-sign Ayton. As a result, there were rumors of other teams signing the former number one overall pick. Even this offseason, Ayton signed an offer sheet with the Indiana Pacers, which the Suns matched. Now Ayton remains with the Suns, where he and Bridges got into it, as the Suns took the home loss to the Washington Wizards.
