Mike Brown has been the Golden State Warriors’ acting head coach, since Steve Kerr has been out. Last night, Mike Brown coached the Warriors to the brutal Game 5 loss in Memphis. The Memphis Grizzlies led the Warriors by 55 points, in the third quarter. All of this happened under Mike Brown’s watch.

Mike Brown has experience being an NBA head coach. Brown coached LeBron James during his first run with the Cleveland Cavaliers. In 2005, Mike Brown became the head coach of the Cavaliers. By 2007, Mike Brown coached the young Cavs to their first ever NBA Finals. Despite this, Brown would be fired by 2011.

Mike Brown would also coach the Los Angeles Lakers. Despite having Kobe Bryant, it was the old Kobe, and the Lakers were declining. After Mike Brown left the Lakers, he joined Steve Kerr’s coaching staff, with the Golden State Warriors. Fast forward to 2022, the Golden State Warriors lost Steve Kerr to COVID, in the middle of their playoff series with the Memphis Grizzlies. This forced Mike Brown to the bench and the Warriors won Game 4.

Mike Brown was hired to coach the Sacramento Kings, last week. However, Mike Brown was coaching when the Warriors fell behind by 55 points. As a result, Mike Brown was clowned by people on Twitter. The fans joked that Sacramento has fired Mike Brown as head coach, before he even coached, after watching Game 5.
