Last summer, Charlotte Hornets’ star forward Miles Bridges was set to receive a huge payday in free agency. However, he went on to be arrested as a result of a domestic violence incident involving his wife. That occurred in Los Angeles. Therefore, Bridges was charged with one felony count of injuring a child’s parent and two felony counts of child abuse. Bridges also went on to file a restraining order against his wife, after she allegedly began stalking him, after the incident.
However, last November, Bridges was able to avoid going to jail. This was done due to pleading no contest to one felony count of injuring a child’s parent. He was also ordered to serve three years of probation.
Meanwhile, Bridges’ NBA future has been addressed. He’s now been suspended for the first 30 games of the 2023-24 season. However, he’s been credited for 20 games served, so he will only have to serve a 10-game suspension.
Bridges still remains a free agent, so it’ll be interesting to see how much interest the Hornets have in bringing him back to Charlotte. Last summer, the Detroit Pistons were also interested in giving Bridges a lathe contract, in free agency.
