Coming into 2012, Nas owed the hip hop world after failing to release Life is Good in 2011, as originally planned. Because Nas did not deliver Life is Good in 2011, many fans did not expect much from him in 2012. During the summer of 2012, Nas released his tenth studio album that was critically-acclaimed.

Despite the legend Nas is within the hip hop community, he had never been nominated for a Grammy prior to the upcoming 55th Annual Grammy Awards. Up for four Grammy nominations, Nas will be attending the upcoming ceremony. In Los Angeles, Nas is making his rounds, discussing the impact of the Grammys.

On “Chelsea Lately,” Chelsea Hander was unable to host when Nas appeared. In her place was Dave Grohl, who actually spoke with Nas. During the interview, Nas talked about the presence of hip hop at the Grammys. Nas also talked about hip hop in comparison to other genres, including rock.
