Yesterday, it was projected by Chart Data that NBA Youngboy’s new “Top” album would debut at No.1 on the Billboard 200 chart this weekend with 127,000 units in its first week. Now, it appears that he isn’t a lock for another top album just yet.
Chart Data reports that Pop Smoke’s posthumous debut studio album, “Shoot For The Stars Aim For The Moon” and Taylor Swift’s “Folklore” album are the other projects that are “up for grabs” for the top spot. Both of Smoke and Swift’s album’s debuted at No. 1 after their releases in July. Folklore spent six consecutive weeks at No. 1 which was the longest streak since 2016. This record also tied Whitney Houston for most weeks at No. 1 among women in Billboard 200 history.
Should Youngboy secure this top position on the Billboard 200, this would be his third project to do so since October of 2019. Big Sean’s “Detroit 2” album is currently atop the chart. Then, he released his “AI Youngboy 2″ album and April saw his “38 Baby 2” debut at No 1. The Baton Rouge rapper has seen massive success in general this year as in February, his “Still Flexin Still Steppin” mixtape debuted at No. 2.
