New R. Kelly “I Admit It” album removed from streaming platforms

Today, a new R. Kelly album suddenly appeared on streaming services such as Apple Music and Spotify. This project is titled “I Admit It,” as 13 songs were included. Many were under the assumption that Sony Music’s Legacy Recordings released it, due to the label’s name being listed on streaming platforms.

However, according to Billboard, Sony or Legacy weren’t involved. Kelly’s album has also since been removed from all streaming platforms. This was revealed by a rep from the label. Legacy is also looking into how this I Admit It album was able to get distributed. It was soon revealed that the album was uploaded by Universal Music Group-owned distributor Ingrooves.

Ingrooves soon made the decision to remove Kelly’s album, at 3PM ET. They’re also investigating how I Admit It made it’s way to streaming platforms.

Kelly has been incarcerated, since the summer of 2019. That came after he was exposed of sex crimes with minors spanning decades, on Lifetime’s “Surviving R. Kelly.” Kelly has since been convicted in multiple trials, over the past year and a half. He’s serving a 30-year sentence, as he was found guilty of racketeering and sex trafficking in his Brooklyn trial. In Kelly’s Chicago trial, he was convicted of child pornography charges.
