Nia Long and Ime Udoka officially break up, after Udoka’s reported alleged affair with Boston Celtics team staffer

Nia Long and Ime Udoka officially split after Udoka’s alleged affair

A few months ago, Boston Celtics Head Coach Ime Udoka landed in extremely hot water. News broke that he allegedly had a consensual relationship with a team staffer. This also meant that Udoka was having an affair with Nia Long, who he had been engaged to, for over seven years. The two also had one child together.

A week ago, Long opened up about how she wasn’t happy that the Celtics let this situation become public. She added that she hated how her son found out about this situation.

However, Udoka and Long have now officially split, according to a source close to People. At this point, their sole focus is to now coparent their son. This news comes after being together for over 13 years.

“The situation is unfortunate and painful,” said the source to People on Tuesday. “But Nia is focusing on her children and rebuilding her life.”

Meanwhile, Udoka is serving a year-long suspension, as a result of this relationship with a staffer. It’s still unclear if he will return as Boston’s head coach, once the suspension ends. The Brooklyn Nets reportedly recently reached out to possibly hire Udoka, after they fired Steve Nash, as their head coach.
