Offset speaks out on passing of Takeoff on Instagram
Last week, Takeoff was officially laid to rest. His funeral was held in his hometown of Atlanta, at State Farm Arena. Fans were also allowed to attend, as tickets were free for Georgia residents. Quavo, Offset, Takeoff’s family, Drake and more delivered beautiful speeches, in honor of Takeoff’s memory. Beautiful performances from Justin Bieber, Chloe Bailey, and others were also included
At Takeoff’s funeral, Offset was visibly emotional, as he is understandably grieving this massive loss. Offset hadn’t spoken publicly on social media about this incident yet, but did change his Instagram avatar, to a photo of Takeoff.
However, Offset has broken his silence, on Instagram. He penned a lengthy letter to Takeoff, as this speech was also delivered at the funeral. He explained how this pain that he’s now dealing with is “unbearable,” and his heart is shattered. Offset wished that he could share moments with Takeoff one more time, such as performing together or even simply smoking together.
Offset had been part of the group Migos, with Takeoff and Quavo, since 2012. This year, they began to split, though, with Quavo and Takeoff releasing collab music together, while Offset experimented on solo records.
