“P-Valley” has paused production of season three due to Writers Guild of America strike

“P-Valley” season 3 production paused due to writers’ strike

The ongoing Writers Guild of America strike continues to hurt many fans’ favorite shows and films. This is due to the writers of these projects coming out about not being fairly compensated for the work that they’ve been putting in, and being left out on compensation from streaming services.

As a result, “P-Valley” is also one of the major hit television series that are being affected by the strike. Production has shut down, as season three of the show had been in the process of being worked on, according to Deadline. Furthermore, P-Valley creator Katori Hall has since released a statement, regarding production being paused, and standing with fellow writers.

“We will not be filming until a fair deal is reached,” Hall. “Like many of my fellow showrunners, I feel as though my writing and producing duties are inextricably linked…I am also a member of the DGA whose AMPTP contract begins negotiations today. Overlapping issues abound and we shall see how these stories end. As a writer I strike with a sense of radical dignity — that our work must be valued for the magic it is.”
