Man’s body on beach possibly related to Pop Smoke murder case
New details have possibly emerged in Pop Smoke’s death, regarding possible retaliation. According to TMZ, a dead body was found inside of a barrel on a beach in Malibu, CA, on July 31. Furthermore, the man in the barrel went on to be identified as Javonnta Murphy.
Murphy is also the brother of Jaquan Murphy, who was one of the five suspects arrested for Pop Smoke’s murder, in July 2020. Therefore, he was initially charged with attempted murder, but that charge went on to get dropped. However, Murphy was in the middle of another case, involving another murder case in Los Angeles. Meanwhile, L.A. County Sheriff’s Department’s are investigating as to whether or not this situation of Murphy’s body being inside of a barrel was retaliation for Pop’s murder.
Pop was initially shot and killed back in February 2020, during a robbery attempt inside of the home he was renting in Hollywood Hills. Pop was only 20-years-old at the time, and on his way to stardom. He released his “Meet The Woo 2” mixtape that month, and had been buzzing with hits such as “Dior” and “Welcome To The Party.”
