Polo G considering music retirement after “Hood Poet” album
Earlier this week, Polo G announced plans to release his fourth studio album, “Hood Poet.” Therefore, the Chicago rapper went on to reveal that this project will be out on September 15. Furthermore, Polo also dropped his new “Barely Holdin’ On” single, on Friday. That is his first single of this year, as he previously released “Distraction,” back in June of 2022.
However, Hood Poet may be the final project that fans receive from Polo G. He took to Twitter in the early hours of Friday morning to reveal that he’s contemplating retirement from music. He also cited how rap has gotten so “watered down,” and that is playing a factor in his consideration of retiring from music.
“Honestly after my hood poet album I’m considering retiring from music so I appreciate everybody ridin for me 10 fold. This rap s*** got so lame and watered down it ain’t no fun in it no more.”
Hopefully, Polo continues to release music, following the rleease of Hood Poet. If not, he would end on a strong note, as his last two album releases have seen top two debuts on the Billboard 200 chart.
