In the years between his album releases, Busta Rhymes began working with a few up-and-coming rappers in New York City. For years, Busta Rhymes worked with Papoose, but the two stopped working together before the end of 2008. Reek Da Villain basically stepped into the shoes once filled by Papoose and began working with Busta Rhymes.
Reek, too, however, would end up leaving Busta Rhymes, returning a short time later. Busta has been fighting to remain one of the top rappers in the game. In recent years, much like the rest of the rap game, Busta Rhymes began working with Cash Money Records. One of the hungriest labels out there, they eventually signed Busta Rhymes.
Busta Rhymes formed Conglomerate Records, a few years ago, and Reek Da Villain was one of the first artists signed. With his boss now a member of YMCMB, Reek Da Villain hopes he, too, will be picked up. During a recent interview with XXL, Reek Da Villain said Busta Rhymes is trying to help him also become a part of Cash Money Records.
Cash Money Records is dominating the game, boasting Lil Wayne, Bow Wow, Mystikal, Drake, Busta Rhymes, Nicki Minaj, and the label came very close to signing Maybach Music Group, since they already boast Maybach affiliate, DJ Khaled.
