Rick Ross goes way back with Jay-Z, to the beginning of his career. When he was still a local Miami rapper making noise, Jay took a chance on him. While there was a bidding war over Ross, he decided to sign with Def Jam. However, he still held it down for Slip-N-Slide Records. As a result, he formed a close bond with Jay-Z. Currently, the “dinner with Jay-Z” debate has gained traction again. Unlike most, Ross said he’s choosing the dinner.
Rick Ross is one of the most interesting rappers in the game. Few rappers have ever had the bravado like he has it. Ross definitely is the most boastful rapper in the history of hip hop. Out the gate, he began dropping hit records, and he hasn’t stopped. However, due to the changes in the industry, Ross didn’t score a platinum album until years later, with his debut album.
Rick Ross recently weighed in on the whole “dinner with Jay-Z” debate. Initially, in 2021, most people were making the argument about why talking with Jay would be beneficial. However, in the 2023 debate, the majority of people have said take the money. But, Rick Ross is making an argument for the dinner, because he said one sit down with Jay-Z changed his life, as an artist, writer, and businessman.
