Rick Ross explains why he became a Correctional Officer

Rick Ross broke down his career choice as a Correctional Officer over a year ago. However, the clip has been reposted and it’s going viral today. When Ross was becoming a superstar, the photo of him in his uniform went viral. This led to his infamous confrontation, which he addressed on his Teflon Don album. All of this was great ammo for 50 Cent in his beef with Ross. However, Rick Ross explained becoming a CO when he was on the Full Send podcast.

Rick Ross was actually one of the first rappers to survive an embarrassing story. Typically, situations like those ruined a rapper’s career. This was especially true for an artist like Ross. After all, Rick Ross is a Mafioso rapper. On top of that, Ross adopted this persona at a time when Mafioso rap seemed to have all but played out. So in the middle of this, Rick Ross’ past as a Correctional Officer surfaced. Despite this, he continued to make hit records, and his fan base continued to grow.

Rick Ross sat down with the Full Send Podcast, last year, and provided clarity. During the interview, Ross explained that one of his big homies got arrested, so he decided to do something to help. Furthermore, he said that the big homies wanted better for him than to wind up in the streets like they were. Ross said they wanted him to either become a fireman or a Correctional Officer. That said, Ross chose being a CO, and said he only made it to the jails, not the prisons.
