Rihanna becomes first female artist to have 15 songs with 1 billion streams each on Spotify

Rihanna sets new Spotify streaming records with 15 songs

In 2024, Rihanna is still widely regarded as one of the greatest artists of all-time. Despite not releasing an album since the top of 2016, she continues to win big with her Fenty Beauty and Savage X Fenty lingerie line. Moreover, Rihanna is still dominating with her music streams, despite her long album drought.

Meanwhile, Rihanna has set another major streaming milestone. According to Chart Data, she is now the first female artist to have 15 songs with 1 billion streams each on Spotify. Rihanna has also now tied Drake and Justin Bieber as the artists with the most credited songs with over 1 billion streams in Spotify history.

Last month, in a new interview with Extra, Rihanna revealed that her next album will be “amazing.” Moreover, she explained that is why it’s been taking so long for her to release a new album, over the past eight years. Over the past two years, she’s been entering motherhood, as she’s had two children with her boyfriend, A$AP Rocky.

“It’s gonna be amazing, Rihanna explained, regarding her new album. “It has to be — that is the only reason it’s not out yet. If I’m not feeling it and I’m not feeling like it represents the evolution, the time I spent away … There should be a show of growth, right?”
