Rihanna’s “Lift Me Up” is nominated for Best Original Song at upcoming Oscars

Rihanna’s “Lift Me Up” is nominated at 2023 Academy Awards
The 2023 Academy Awards aka the Oscars will officially be held on March 12, in Los Angeles, at the Dolby Theatre. This is the 95th edition of the awards show, as the list of nominees was revealed on Tuesday, as plenty of notable names in the music industry were also included. Jimmy Kimmel will also host this year’s Oscars, as he had previously done so, back in 2017 and 2018.
Rihanna and Tems were both nominated, as they were recognized for their “Lift Me Up” single. As a result, this was for “Best Original Song.” Tems, Ryan Coogler and Ludwig Goransson helped write this record, while Rih delivered the vocals. This collaboration went on to become the lead single for the “Black Panther: Wakanda Forvever” soundtrack. The film and soundtrack were both released in November. Lift Me Up was also Rihanna’s first solo single, since 2016.
Currently, there is also even more buzz surrounding Rihanna. She will be performing at the Super Bowl, on February 12, in Phoenix. Rih initially confirmed this last fall, by posting a photo of her hand holding an NFL football, to social media. She’s also rumored to finally release her first studio album since 2016, and venture on a world tour, after the Super Bowl.
