The music industry is currently being fed hard losses, with yesterday serving up the deaths of Andre Harrell and Little Richard, on the same day. Those hoping for good news, this morning, were sorely disappointed. This morning, Betty Wright has passed away.

Betty Wright is a native of Miami and one of the first artists from the city to receive national exposure. Her song, “Clean Up Woman,” is widely regarded as a classic. Meanwhile, “Tonight’s The Night” has received many rap references.

Only weeks after her “Unsung” feature, Betty Wright has passed away, at the age of 66. The news was both shocking and disappointing. As the fans have been, though, they immediately took to Twitter to pay their respects to the legend.
