Fans honor Young Dolph on 1-year anniversary of death

One year ago today, hip-hop lost one of its biggest stars, in Young Dolph. At the time, he was shot and killed, in his hometown of Memphis. This was while at Makeda’s Cookies, as two masked fan opened fire at Dolph, while inside the business.

Since then, three suspects have been arrested, in connection to Dolph’s dead. These are 23-year-old Justin Johnson, 32-year-old Cornelius Smith, and recently, 43-year-old Hernandez Govan. Govan had reportedly been plotting on Dolph, for months.

With Dolph being gone for a year now, fans continue to pay their respects on social media. Many reflected on how solid of a person he was, as well as an artist, over the past decade.

This week, Dolph was also given his own days, in the states of Georgia and Tennessee. This includes various days of service events, as his day is officially on November 17. The IdaMae Foundation is providing free haircuts and lunch at the Hospitality Hub, in Memphis. In Atlanta, free lunch and dinner will be available at Evolution Center.
