Rumor of Tory Lanez posting bail and being released from prison gets shut down

Tory Lanez rumor of posting bail shut down

Over the past few days, rumors have surfaced that Tory Lanez is being released from prison, due to being granted a motion to post bail. This motion was initially filed by his attorney.

However, according to legal reporter Meghann Cuniff, the speculation that Tory is being freed is false. This comes after a fake email was initially sent to Tory’s team, which claimed that he would be able to post bail.

“I gotta say this was an absolutely hilarious 45 minutes of being bombarded with questions about Lanez getting bail, posting that it’s BS, then listening to a Twitter Spaces in which the people saying he got bail realized in real time it was BS. Epic,” said Cuniff on Twitter/X. “‘It shouldn’t be that easy to make a fake email. … These things should be verifiable.’ Yes, if only there was this thing called the public court docket that we could check to see if something has actually happened in a case.

Tory was initially sentenced to 10 years in prison, in August. That came after being convicted in December, of three felony counts, after allegedly shooting Megan Thee Stallion in July 2020. Furthermore, Tory continued to proclaim his innocence, and still wanted to appeal the sentence, and file a motion for bail. The Toronto rapper was recently denied this request, though.
