It’s sad to see what the educational system has become. When it boils down to it, the respect simply isn’t there like it used to be. Children have become emboldened to do and say whatever they feel. As a result, they go to school and they run all over their teachers. What used to come off as a shock, students beating on teachers, has now become commonplace. Still, it hurt to see this Houston teacher getting punched in the face by a student. All of this was over a phone.

Today’s children will never comprehend what school used to be like. First of all, cell phones were not even necessary for students to have. So when students brought their phones to school, the policy was that the phones were confiscated. If a teacher so much as saw a cell phone, it was taken from them. Most teachers were lenient, so they would simply hold the phone for the duration of the class. However, most policies required phones to be taken to the office.

Nowadays, given all that’s going on in the world, cell phones are prominent. Children as young as the second grade have cell phones. As a result, it’s more common for students to even use their devices in class. However, the policies remain the same as in the devices should not distract the students from learning. For whatever reason, a Houston teacher took the phone of one of his students. Upset by this, the student in turn began repeatedly punching the man in his face, as he took cover.
