SZA earns her first number one album, with “SOS,” and has biggest R&B streaming week ever

SZA’s “SOS” album debuts at number one in US

A week ago, SZA finally released her highly anticipated sophomore album, “SOS.” This project was revealed during her appearance on “Saturday Night Live,” earlier this month, where she also performed her “Shirt” single.

SOS contained 23 tracks in total, which were led by singles such as Shirt, “Good Days,” and “I Hate U.” SZA also collaborated with Phoebe Bridgers, Travis Scott, Don Toliver, and the late Ol’ Dirty Bastard. There have since been plenty of more fan-favorites since SOS’ release, such as “Kill Bill,” “Nobody Gets Me” and “Love Language.”

At the time of SOS’ initial release, it was quickly projected to earn a huge number one debut on the Billboard 200 chart. This would also mean that SZA would have her first number one album. As a result, this is now official.

According to Chart Data, SOS sold 315,000 units, in its first week. It also has the largest R&B streaming week of all-time. When SZA released her debut album “Ctrl,” in June 2017, that saw a number three debut.

In February, SZA will also be venturing on her SOS North American Tour. This will kick off on February 21, in Columbus, OH. 17 dates will be available, as the tour will conclude on March 22, in Los Angeles. Tickets have since been in sky high demand for presale availability, as well as when general on sale tickets officially became available.
