SZA’s “SOS” on pace for straight week at number one in US

Over the past month, SZA has been taking over the charts, with her new sophomore album, “SOS.” This was initially released on December 9, and went on to debut at number one in the US, on the Billboard 200 chart. SOS has since gone on to remain at this top spot, for five consecutive weeks.

However, SZA’s impressive run with SOS isn’t ending anytime soon. According to Chart Data, it’s on pace for a sixth straight week, at number one. This week is expected to sell over an additional 120,000 units. SOS would also be the longest-running number one album by a female artist, released in 2022.

SOS was initially led by singles such as “Good Days,” “I Hate U,” and “Shirt.” 23 songs were released, as 20 of them debuted on the Billboard Hot 100 chart. “Kill Bill” and “Nobody Gets Me” have since been released as additional singles. SZA put out the visuals for Kill Bill last week, as it was a viral success. The song has also since reached platinum eligibility in the US, after selling over 1 million units.

The SOS North American Tour also kicks off on February 22, in Columbus, OH. This will last for a month, as it’ll conclude with two shows in Los Angeles. This will be SZA’s first four since the summer of 2017.
