SZA’s “SOS” is number one in US for fourth straight week
This week, SZA’s “SOS” album was in a tight race with Taylor Swift’s “Midnights,” for being the number one album in the US, on the Billboard 200 chart. On Saturday, it seemed that Taylor would come out on top.
However, on Sunday, SOS came in and was able to secure that top spot. This is now its fourth straight week at number one, as over the past week, it sold 124,000 units, according to Chart Data. 753,000 total units have been sold, since SOS’ initial release, on December 9.
SOS was led by hit singles such as “Good Days,” “I Hate U” and “Shirt.” 23 songs were available in total, as SZA also collaborated with Phoebe Bridgers, Ol’ Dirty Bastard, Don Toliver, and Travis Scott. In the first week of its release, 20 out of the 23 songs debuted in the Billboard Hot 100 chart. More fan-favorites have since emerged, such as “Kill Bill,” “Nobody Gets Me,” “Low” and “Love Language.”
SOS was also SZA’s first album in five and a half years. The wait was definitely worth it, as many fans view this is as another classic album by the Top Dawg Entertainment artist.
