SZA’s “SOS” reaches ninth total week at number one in US

SZA’s new sophomore album “SOS” album continues to take over, with 2023 beginning. Last week, this album returned to the number one spot in the US, after previously spending its first seven weeks at that top position.

As a result, SOS has now spent another week at number one, which is its ninth week in total. Over the past week, SZA sold 93,000 more units in the US, with this project. SOS also becomes the longest running number one female album of the 2020s.

SOS initially marked SZA’s first number one album; and her first album release in five and a half years. Her previous one was her 2017 debut studio album, “Ctrl.

SOS is led by hit singles such as “Good Days,” “I Hate U” and “Shirt.” “Kill Bill” has since been the latest single, and currently stands at number two in the US, on the Billboard Hot 100 chart. 20 out of the 23 songs on the album initially debuted on the Hot 100, as SOS also had the biggest R&B streaming week ever, in its opening week. Fans will always have the chance to see SZA’s SOS North American Tour this month, as the first show kicks off on the 21st, in Columbus, OH.
