SZA’s “SOS” becomes fastest female R&B album to surpass 1.4 billion Spotify streams

SZA sets new Spotify record with “SOS” album

This weekend, SZA’s new “SOS” album officially debuted at number one on the Billboard 200 chart. This became her first number one project, as it also served as her sophomore album. SZA had a lot of momentum heading into this release, with singles such as “Good Days,“I Hate U” and “Shirt.”

SOS contained 23 songs in total, as SZA also collaborated with Travis Scott, Phoebe Bridgers, Don Toliver, and the late Ol’ Dirty Bastard. There have been even more fan-favorites since the album’s release, such as “Kill Bill,” “Low,” and “Love Language.”

Following SOS’ release, SZA began to set various streaming records. This includes having the biggest R&B streaming week ever. SZA also now becomes the fastest R&B album to surpass 1.4 billion streams, on Spotify.

SOS was also SZA’s first project released, since the summer of 2017. At the time, she released her debut studio album “Ctrl.” At the time, that was her breakout year, led by hits such as “The Weekend” and “Love Galore” featuring Travis Scott. SZA initially announced SOS, during her “Saturday Night Live” appearance, earlier this month. She also performed Shirt.
