SZA’s “SOS” on its way to number one debut in US

On Friday, SZA’s “SOS” album was finally released, marking the end of a long five and a half-year wait. This project was led by singles such as “Good Days,”I Hate U” and “Shirt.” 23 songs were also available in total, as SZA also had collaborations with Travis Scott, Phoebe Bridgers, Don Toliver, and Ol’ Dirty Bastard. She initially confirmed the album’s release date on “Saturday Night Live,” last weekend.

Fans have since praised SZA’s efforts on SOS, as plenty already view it as another classic R&B album. She also showed her versatility on this project, by providing rap, pop, and even rock records.

Now, SOS is on its way to a massive first week debut. According to Chart Data, it’s on pace to debut at number one on the Billboard 200 chart. SOS is projected to sell between 275,000-300,000 units in its first week. This would also be SZA’s first number one album.

SZA’s 2017 debut studio album had debuted at number three. That went on to be viewed as an iconic R&B album, and is still streamed heavily by fans, to this day. However, SOS is also receiving those same praises, after a very long wait for its release.
