SZA’s upcoming “S.O.S.” album is already at gold eligibility
Over the weekend, SZA confirmed that her long-awaited sophomore album is finally coming on December 9. This is “S.O.S.,” as the singer confirmed the release date, while being a musical guest on “Saturday Night Live.” On the show, she went on to perform her latest “Shirt” single.
This comes after SZA revealed the official S.O.S. cover art last week, as well. This generated plenty of hype on social media, as the wait for her first album in five and a half years is finally over.
However, SZA’s S.O.S. album is already seeing quick success. It’s already eligible to be certified gold in the US, according to Chart Data. This is due to already selling over 500,000 units, with available singles such as “Good Days,” “Shirt,” and “I Hate U.” Good Days was initially released on Christmas 2020, and I Hate U was released in December 2021.
SZA’s last project came way back in June 2017, with her debut studio album, “Ctrl.” That was led by hits such as “The Weekend” and “Love Galore,” featuring Travis Scott. Ctrl went on to debut at number three in the US, and is also currently 2x platinum. The deluxe edition was finally released this past summer, with eight new songs.
