SZA’s new “SOS” album is currently on its way to remain at number one in the US, for a third straight week. It was initially released on December 9, as this was one of the most anticipated albums of 2022. SOS served as SZA’s first album in five and a half years.

SOS is led by hits such as “Good Days,” “I Hate U” and “Shirt.” 23 songs were available in total, including collaborations with Travis Scott, Don Toliver, Phoebe Bridgers, and the late Ol’ Dirty Bastard. More fan-favorites have since emerged from the album, such as “Kill Bill,” “Low,” and “Love Language.” SOS also earned the biggest streaming week ever, for an R&B album.

The release of SOS was definitely a long time coming. As a result, Top Dawg Entertainment President, Punch, recently thanked fans, on Twitter. This was due to their patience and who actually stayed down, during that process.

“I never really focus on the numbers too much. Of course I pay attention to them, the quality of the art is always at the forefront for me. But these SOS numbers aren’t too shabby. Lol. Shout out to the real fans who stayed down and stayed patient. Shout to TDE and the doubters who doubted us. Love y’all.”

TDE has had a massive year, as a record label. In May, Kendrick Lamar released his final album on he label, which was “Mr. Morale & The Big Steppers.” That easily debuted at number one, and was Kendrick’s first album since 2017. This month, Ab-Soul also released his first album since 2016, with “Herbert.” Doechii also put out her breakout “She/Her/Black B*tch” EP.
