The Weeknd announces “Double Fantasy” single with Future

The Weeknd has a new collaboration with Future on the way, which is set to be released on April 21. This is “Double Fantasy,” as this record also appears on the nee HBO series, “The Idol.” Weeknd recently previewed this collaboration, on Instagram Live.

This release comes after Weeknd has appeared on multiple remixes, to kick off 2023. Those have been “Die For You” remix featuring Ariana Grande, as well as Metro Boomin’s “Creepin” which also features Diddy.

Meanwhile, Weeknd and Future have had chemistry on records in the past. Those include Weeknd’s “Low Life” single in 2015, Weeknd’s “All I Know” in 2016. as well as Future’s “Comin Out Strong,” in 2017.

As a result, Double Fantasy serves as Weeknd’s first single of 2023. 2022 was massive for him, as his “Dawn FM” album saw a number two debut in the US, on the Billboard 200 chart. Weeknd released the “Avatar: Way Of Water” soundtrack. That came after releasing his “Best Friends” remix with Summer Walker, that summer. Around that time Weeknd, wrapped up his “After Hours Til Dawn” World Tour, which had been delayed for over two years, due to the pandemic.
