The Weeknd breaks his own record for monthly Spotify listeners 

The Weeknd continues to break even more major streaming records, as fans await his next album. This week, his 2019 “Blinding Lights” single became the first song in Spotify history to surpass 4 billion streams. Blinding Lights is also certified diamond in the US.

Meanwhile, The Weeknd has set another Spotify record, which he also held. Therefore, he is now the artist with the most monthly listeners in Spotify history. Moreover, this comes as a result of accumulating 113.122 million monthly listeners, according to Chart Data.

This also comes as The Weeknd has been teasing a new album, coming in 2024. Last week, he posted a photo with his two previous studio albums, as well as a photo with a question mark, at the end.

However, it’s still unclear what the title of this project will be, or its official release date. Weeknd’s last album came back in January 2022, which was “Dawn FM.” That project went on to debut at number two in the US, on the Billboard 200 chart.
